Year-End Dispensary Email Reporting: A Review and Handoff

Slender cannabis plant against a bright green background.

A year-end report should help a business understand what its email program delivered, what the available data supports and which questions remain open. It should not use a reporting deadline to promise a last-minute revenue increase.

Start with a defined reporting period and a clear audience for the review. An owner deciding next year’s service scope needs different detail from an operator investigating a missing import.

Set the reporting boundary

Record the period, time zone, included accounts and locations, source systems and extraction date. Identify whether the report covers all campaigns or only those with complete records. Keep excluded activity visible in the methodology note.

If the business changed platforms or reporting definitions during the year, show the break in coverage. Do not join unlike periods into a single trend without explaining the difference.

Reconcile the underlying figures

  • Check campaign counts against the final production calendar.
  • Review duplicate, missing and delayed records.
  • Confirm which delivery and engagement measures the platform reports.
  • Document the treatment of corrections, refunds and cancellations where relevant.
  • Keep exports and calculation notes sufficient for an authorized reviewer to reproduce the summary.

Use the data inventory review to find source owners. Keep the year-end exercise focused on reconciliation and decisions rather than rebuilding every system at once.

Separate business totals from campaign attribution

Label platform-attributed revenue separately from total business revenue and explain the attribution window. Identify overlap with other campaigns or channels when the information is available; state the limitation when it is not.

Do not equate attributed activity with additional activity caused by email. For the financial calculation itself, refer to email ROI measurement, including the need to define costs and the revenue basis consistently.

Write findings at the strength of the evidence

A useful finding includes an observation, its supporting source and its limitation. A change in a metric may justify further investigation without identifying the cause. Avoid describing a seasonal pattern as a reliable prediction of future behavior.

Include process results as well as campaign figures: whether reporting arrived on time, approvals were recorded and agreed deliverables were completed. These are practical inputs to an agency review when supported by project records.

Turn the review into an owned handoff

Choose a short list of next steps, each with an owner, evidence needed and decision date. Separate account repairs from new production requests and from experiments requiring a fresh brief. The planning and capacity review can help align those priorities with available support.

Hiigher’s account and campaign audit can help clarify reporting gaps and the next scope discussion. A complete handoff states what is known, what needs checking and who is responsible for resolving it.
