Cannabis content needs a review process that respects the rules of each channel. Changing a word or moving a message to another platform does not make an ineligible use acceptable. The useful question for an agency team is whether the proposed content, audience and account are appropriate before production begins.
Start with the channel requirements
Record the intended channel, account owner and current provider documentation. Check the specific use case rather than relying on another brand’s published content as evidence of permission. If the requirements are unclear, seek clarification from the provider or a qualified adviser before scheduling.
Email and social media have different operating constraints. A decision about one does not establish approval for the other. Keep a separate review record for each destination.
Build the brief from verified material
Give the writer approved business facts, current assets, the intended audience and a clear purpose. Identify statements that need evidence and who will review them. Do not replace a missing fact with plausible-sounding copy or an indirect phrase designed to avoid review.
For health-related or scientific material, assign a qualified reviewer. Marketing copy should not become individualized advice or a promise about a product’s effects.
Keep the voice recognizable
A consistent voice comes from clear editorial choices: vocabulary, tone, reading level and visual standards. These choices help a reviewer judge whether an asset represents the business accurately. They are not a way around provider requirements.
Use the same core factual brief across channels, but check each version independently. A shortened caption can lose an important qualification; an image can contain claims that the surrounding text does not repeat.
Review the full destination
Check the asset, links and landing page together. Make sure the destination matches the description and the current approved version. Keep the final approval with the exact material that will be used, and reopen the review when a substantive detail changes.
Define who manages what
Hiigher’s current services focus on email, SMS, creative, lifecycle support and account review. Broader social management is not included in the published packages. Agree any additional work separately rather than assuming it follows from a multichannel brief.
For a practical handoff checklist, see the marketing approval workflow. The goal is accountable production, not a promise that content can bypass restrictions.
